Sophia Antipolis, October 23rd, 2024 – QuantifiCare SA, a pioneering company based in Sophia Antipolis and internationally renowned for its expertise in 2D/3D medical imaging and clinical research, is proud to announce the establishment of an AI Consortium in the regionalized IDémo call for projects.
Launched by Bpifrance, this collaborative R&D project, called PLICIA (Plateforme Logicielle d’Imagerie Clinique intégrant de l’Intelligence Artificielle or Clinical Imaging Software Platform integrating Artificial Intelligence), has been accredited by the EUROBIOMED competitiveness cluster, in response to the “i-Demo” call for tenders, an action of the Future Investment Program.
The Consortium, comprised from French Tech, includes QuantifiCare, i3S (CNRS), Hosteur and Inria. QuantifiCare is the project leader, with a total investment of 3 million euros. The main objective of this collaboration is to accelerate QuantifiCare’s technological trajectory and propel medical research by capitalizing on a large pre-existing database.
The aim of the Consortium Partners is to develop a medical data management software platform to help doctors with annotation, evaluation and decision-making, and to support artificial intelligence research.
With substantial advances in artificial intelligence for image analysis, the Consortium partners are joining forces to develop innovative diagnostic tools and medical devices designed to optimize patient treatment. Artificial intelligence will be a major lever for accurately diagnosing the effects of medical treatments and detecting skin pathologies.
This innovative platform will be accessible to a multitude of players, such as pharmaceutical companies, University Hospitals (CHU) and researchers, and the advances made will be shared for the worldwide benefit of the entire sector. The uniqueness of this initiative lies in its marked differentiation from GAFAM projects, by strictly framing the protection and processing of personal data, a dimension often neglected by these industry giants.
Dr. Jean-Philippe Thirion, CEO and founder of QuantifiCare, would like to sincerely thank Eurobiomed, Bpifrance, F.I Group, the RUE scheme, and the elected representatives of the Southern Region, whose sustained support has enabled these innovative projects to reach ever more ambitious heights.
This project has been funded by the Region and the government as part of the France 2030 Plan.
